Write for SHE IS UNTAMED

This magazine was never meant to be one woman's voice. It's a chorus of many, a sacred song sung from the burning hearts of our ancestors. A culmination of sacred rage and fire.

She Is Untamed is built on a single belief: that when one woman tells the truth out loud, she gives every woman watching permission to do the same. So we're not looking for polished think-pieces or expert takes. We're looking for the real thing. We want the story you've only half-told, the pain in the middle, the lesson that cost you something.

We want you to share your truth, unfiltered.

What we publish:

Original drafts.

Honest, first-person writing about grief, identity, relocation, motherhood, ambition, self-trust, starting over, and the exhaustion underneath a life that looks fine from the outside. Talk about the lie you were sold and how it impacted you. Talk about the life you rebuilt. Talk about how you're in the middle of rebuilding...

What we don't want:

Toxic positivity. Bypassing. Listicles. AI Generated Content. Don't wrap a hard truth in a bow. If it pretends, it doesn't belong here.

What you get:

• A byline and link to your own author page on She Is Untamed
• Your work in front of a growing audience of women
• The chance to be featured on our YouTube channel! We bring select pieces to life on camera, putting your words in front of an even wider audience
• To be part of the reclamation, and one of the voices building the magazine we all needed when we were growing up

How to pitch:

Send a short note to stephanie@sheisuntamed.com with:

• What you'd write about (a sentence or two with the truth at the center of it)
• Why it matters and why it matters now
• A little about you (and a link to anything you've written before, if you have it, but that's not required)

That's it. No fee, ever. If it's a fit, you'll hear back from an Editor within 3 days.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Word count: 1,500–2,500 words

Format

• Written directly in Medium’s editor
• Include a short author bio (2–3 sentences) at the end of your piece

Images

• All images must include a caption crediting the original creator
• All images must include alt text describing the image

Writing standards:

• Must be original, unpublished work
• No AI-generated content. Please write from your heart.
• Light profanity is acceptable when used intentionally for impact only.
• Please no hate, racial slurs, or insults toward any gender, race, or social class. We have class here, and RESPECT.
• No heavy or gratuitous profanity
• No affiliate links unless they are directly aligned with the UNTAMED brand values. When in doubt, leave it out. We will remove non-aligned affiliate links during editing without notice.
